The 2008 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship on Lake Norman
The weekend anglers of the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series will do battle to win a seat for the world championship The Bassmaster Classic. The Boater Champion will be automatically entered in the Bassmaster Classic the most prestigious championship held in bass fishing.

The Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship will be held on Lake Norman in Cornelius, North Carolina, during the week of November 9th through 15th.
The championship offers a prize purse of over $680,000 in cash and sponsor contingency awards. The winning boater will receive $100,000 cash and can earn an additional $105,000 in sponsor bonuses, if requirements are met. The winning boater will also earn an entry as a contestant in the 2009 Bassmaster Classic. The winning co-angler will receive $50,000 in cash and can earn $52,500 in sponsor bonuses, if requirements are met. Anglers will also win sponsor prizes and entry fees for the 2009 Bassmaster Weekend Series plus professional entries into the American Bass Anglers Grand Slam Series.

Lake Norman is centrally located in the piedmont of North Carolina just north of Charlotte. Part of the Catawba River, it was created in 1963 with the construction of Cowans Ford Dam. Lake Norman is 33.6 miles long and 9 miles at its widest point it has 32,745 surface area and 520 miles of shoreline. The lake is the largest in the state of North Carolina and extends across 4 counties.
