Lake front property

Would like to build a lake front retirement home. Planning to build a walk-out basement approx 2000 foot home. Plan to sail my Rhodes 22. Have visited the area once. Impressed by what I saw but would welcome comments about the areas surrounding the lake. I'm not a "McMansion" type but love the outdoors, woods, and would like to keep yard work down to a minimum.
